Thyroid Support Ireland

News, information and support for people with Thyroid conditions who live in Ireland

We are a group of Irish thyroid patients who provide others with support and information on thyroid issues

Dublin journalist  Shan Kelly  set up Thyroid Support Ireland through this web site in April 2010, three years after being  diagnosed with Graves Disease.

It is now  may2013 and TSI has 145 members . We now have a Thyroid Support Ireland page on Facebook.

The motive is  to provide thyroid patients living in Ireland with access to  information about thyroid illnesses and on the latest medicines and treatments available here and abroad. Shan also wanted this site  to help people get support and health tips from other people living with thyroid illnesses.

Thyroid Support Ireland  now has members in Donegal, Belfast, Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick, Mayo, Cork and Los Angeles and  we are in  contact with thyroid patient groups all over the world.

Marpo joined TSI in Spring 2012. from Trinidad, USA.

Back in 2009, Elaine started the Graves Disease Coffee Break idea to encourage  people who'd met through thyroid groups to get together and have a bit of time out from their disease.

If you'd like to take part in a Graves Disease or Hashimoto's Coffee Break here in Ireland, let us know and we will try to make it happen. Our goal is to keep you up to date with what's going on  thyroid wise, and also to help us all remember that we are more than just people with a disease.
